To Sendai

Tohoku University is located in the City of Sendai, about 350km to the north of Tokyo. There are two routes to come to Tohoku University from Narita International Airport:

1. By railway (Time: 3-4 hours, Cost: About JPY13,000)
Take the "JR Narita Express" from Narita International Airport to Tokyo Station and transfer to "Tohoku Shinkansen (Super Express)" named "Hayate" or "Yamabiko" bound for Sendai. If you are a temporary visitor, the useful rail passes (ex. JR east pass) are available.
It is also possible to take "Keisei Sky Liner" from Narita International Airport to Ueno Station, near Tokyo Station.

2. By air (Time: 1.5 hours, Cost: About JPY17,000)
There are domestic flights from Narita to Sendai, (two flights per day: ANA, IBEX). From Sendai airport, you can take tarin to Sendai station.

From Sendai Station to Katahira Campus, Tohoku University.

Amezawa laboratory belongs to Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials (IMRAM: in Japanese, TAGEN-KEN), located in Katahira Campus of Tohoku University. From Sendai station, you can come to our laboratory by bus, taxi or on foot. Our laboratory is located in 3rd floor of No. 2 bulinding of Labs. for Advanced Materials Research of IMRAM.

Comming on foot:

About 20 minutes from JR SENDAI Station

About 15 minutes from JR AOBA-DORI Station

Municipal BUS:

Get on bus for MIDORIGAOKA-SANCHOME or YAGIYAMA-MINAMIDANCHI by way of　OTAMAYA-BASHI (terminal:SENDAI Station the West bus terminal No. 11)

Get off at "TOHOKU-DAI SEIMON MAE"

Miyagikotsu BUS:

Get on bus for NAGAMACHI terminal by way of DOBUTSU-KOEN (terminal:SENDAI Station the West bus terminal No. 12)

Get off at "TOHOKU-DAI SEIMON MAE"

TAXI:

Give instruction "Tohoku Univercity KATAHIRA Campus"
