This Specially Appointed Research Fellow/Specially Appointed Assistant Professor (Research) will join the Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials, Tohoku University, to research on the exploration of new Li or Na ion conducting inorganic solids and design principles of solid-state ionic materials. In particular, the research focus will be put to fill the gap between various materials classes such as oxides, sulfides, and halides, and also different form of materials, e.g., crystalline, amorphous and composites, in collaboration with Assoc. Prof. Saneyuki Ohno. Based on better mechanistic understanding gained through the above-mentioned research, the ultimate goal is to realize and further develop the key materials for solid-state energy storage devices. Research experience on structural analysis and materials exploration is preferred but not required if the candidates possess sufficient experience and research records in materials science, electrochemistry, or solid-state chemistry/physics. We are looking for people willing to actively expand their research areas and eager to work with those willing to lead the field of energy storage.
