Oxygen nonstoichiometry, electronic state and crystal structure of layered perovskite oxides
Ling Yihan
Layered perovskite oxides have been found to present excellent properties as cathodes for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) applications especially in the intermediate-to-low range of temperatures where the performance of the cathode is of fundamental importance. To establish the correlation with physical properties as a guide for materials research, oxygen nonstoichiometry, electronic state and crystal structure of layered perovskite oxides are systematically evaluated by solid-state chemical and solid-state physical methods, where defect equilibrium, statistical thermodynamic models, conduction mechanism and the structural variation are illustrated.
