Introduction

Director
Prof. Masaru Nakagawa

Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials (IMRAM) was established in 2001 with the aim of “multidisciplinary materials science & technology”. Twenty years after its inauguration, IMRAM has repealed “Polymer·Hybrid Materials Research Center” that was established in 2010 and has reorganized “Materials–Measurement Hybrid Research Center” in April 2021 with the aim of “promoting polymer and organic-inorganic hybrid materials research through material creation and measurement evaluation, developing new measurement technologies in collaboration with material development needs, and conducting their integrated research. This research center consists of 6 active laboratories of Quantum Electron Science, Nano/Micro Chemical Measurements, Hybrid Carbon Nanomaterials, Hybrid Material Fabrication, Photo-Functional Material Chemistry, and Organic- and Bio- Nanomaterials with respective unique materials and measurements. All the members are dedicated to research promotion, industry collaboration, student education, and young-scientist encouragement, to carry out the mission of IMRAM and Tohoku University. We ask for the support and cooperation of every person in promoting the activities of this research center.
