Outline of research

Our main purpose of research is to design and develop various kinds of new inorganic materials, including carbon, by precisely controlling nano-space where synthetic reactions of them take place. Moreover, we are trying to apply these highly functional materials into electronic elements, magnetic recording mediums, energy storage, and so on.




Topics of research

Synthesis of nanostructured inorganic materials at the inside space of the carbon nanotubes with uniform size
Development of nano-sized p-n junction with ordered structure in the multiwall carbon nanotubes doped by the hetero atoms
Synthesis of ordered microporous carbons and their applications for the energy storage materials
Development of perpendicular ferromagnetic nano-rods for high-density magnetic recording mediums
Synthesis of porous membranes of anatase single crystal and their applications for the solar battery

Preparation of carbon nanotubes with uniform lengths and diameters by the template technique

We succeeded in preparation of the carbon nanotubes with uniform lengths and diameters for the first time in the world by using the anodic oxide films (Ai2O3) with uniform nanopore-arrays as the templates
